Allen Library North – Petersen Room, 4th floor, Room 485

UW Libraries Global Engagement, in collaboration with Northwest Chinese Writers Association, is excited to announce the upcoming roundtable presentation by five women authors, which is titled “Creating a haven for our hearts: Chinese American authors reflect on their Covid-19 journey.”

“Tell your stories, embarking the journey towards healing!” With this empowering mantra, the roundtable speakers will share their personal odysseys through the COVID-19 pandemic, unraveling the veiled traumas that have touched not only their own hearts but also the hearts of countless others. Their collective resilience and efforts culminated in the publication of two deeply moving works: Witnessing the Pandemic: Unforgettable Stories of 2020-2021 (抹不去的痛:见证2020-2021) and Hidden Trauma(隐蔽的伤痛). From Mainland China to the Pacific Northwest, these authors are first-generation Chinese immigrants. They have fearlessly documented their immigrant journeys and life experiences. Their voices echo the resounding strength of the human spirit, offering inspiration to all who embark on the path of healing.

The presentation will be conducted in English, and is open to the public free of charge. Light refreshments will be provided. For further information, please refer to the event flyer. To confirm your attendance, please RSVP. More information.
