Libraries & UW Statistics

The UW Libraries collects a range of statistical data to inform decision making and improve services for users. Key statistics collected include: gate counts, circulation, reference, and instruction statistics. Statistics are also reported to the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), which facilitates national benchmarking among peer libraries.

UW Data & Reports

The Libraries draws on a range of institutional reports and data sources in order to understand and meet the needs of UW students and faculty.

  • UW Information Technology: Teaching & Learning Research
    Includes recent research reports, presentations and publications relating to faculty, student, and staff technology needs. of the UW’s faculty, researchers, students, and staff.
  • Office of Educational Assessment (OEA)
    Includes links and reports for Student Experience at the Research University (SERU) survey data and qualitative studies of UW students and faculty focused on teaching and learning improvement.
  • Graduate School Reports
    Includes diversity reports (2001/2013) and assessment reports on international student enrollment/success and general enrollment in light of national trends/diversity initiatives. Results from exit surveys for Master's and Doctoral students are also available via Tableau dashboards/UW BI portal.
  • Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMAD) Assessment & Research Unit
    Site includes a report about the state of diversity at UW (all campuses, 2016) and links to UW diversity statistics & policies.
  • First Year Programs Assessment
    Links to program summary reports by academic year. Reports include summaries of Dawg Daze and Advising & Orientation survey data.
  • Office of Planning & Budgeting
    Includes links to UW Fast Facts, external reports and peer comparisons, and budget information.
  • UW Business Intelligence (BI) Portal
    Includes data, reports, and visualizations related to enrollment/degree trends, undergraduate retention/graduation rates, undergraduate persistence, as well as faculty research awards. Access to some data may require institutional log-in.
